On the way to Konavle it is almost obligatory to make a short stop just above Dubrovnik to enjoy the spectacular panorama of the old town – probably the most photographed place in the whole of Croatia. In the morning glow Dubrovnik looks really incredible from this spot. After only a few moments you will understand George Bernard Shaw calling Dubrovnik “Paradise on Earth“. Soon afterwards, we reach Konavle region, there to turn off from the main road and find ourselves in a completely different world. Small villages with stone houses replace glorious Dubrovnik, and delicious ham is dried in “kaminatas“, the huge local chimneys. Continuing further south, relax more and more in a region which has not changed in ages. Visit Mr. Ivo and his family in their old mill, listen to their story, and eat a snack prepared by his wife and daughter. Konavle is known for its ethnic museum, where an exhibition of traditional dresses is a must on our tour. Also recommended is the small museum housed within a local dwelling, where objects in daily use are on display; here, it is easy to visualise the everyday life of local people.

Probably the most charming city on the Balkan Peninsula, Mostar will steal your heart forever. As Nobel Prize winner, writer Ivo Andrić, said: “When you spend a night in Mostar, it is not the sound that wakes you up in the morning, but the light. The light welcomes you on arrival, and follows you from morning to evening. It remains forever as the overwhelming memory of your visit to Mostar”, a truly incredible experience in this place where East meets West. This mixture of cultures, religions, Mediterranean and continental air, makes the city unforgettable. Encounter a place of poetry, narrow pebble streets and the scents of the Orient. Walk over the famous bridge, listen to the glorious and tragic days of this place, visit one of the many mosques here, and stop for a cup of real coffee in the Turkish House. Before our return we shall lunch in a pleasant restaurant, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Neretva River.

From the harbour in Gradac we will travel towards the Pelješac peninsula, all the while enjoying the stunning views of the Makarska Riviera and Biokovo Mountain. The small settlements beneath the mountain’s peak and the little towns along the coastline will slowly disappear as the ship passes near the lavender island of Hvar. Shortly, the Island of Korčula will command your attention. This former Greek colony, and reputed birthplace of Marco Polo, is nowadays a wonderful holiday destination.
We will disembark at the island’s principal town of Korcula. A magical old settlement, fruit of the labours of talented stonemasons, it is the ancient home of shipbuilders and sailors, a people who travelled the world and brought all their experiences back with them, to create one of the most beautiful and best preserved medieval cities in the whole Mediterranean.
You may stroll around the town on your own, visiting some of many art galleries, or simply sit down in one of the cosy coffee shops to try delicious local sweets. You may also choose to join our guided tour of the old town to discover local curiosities and listen to its many legends.
Following our visit to Korcula, you will be served a leisurely lunch onboard, to enjoy your food and wine whilst the ship slowly makes its return to Gradac.

It is incredibly difficult to describe the beauty of Krka’s waterfalls and the greenery of the surrounding forest. Nature in its purest form, it is a constantly changing living organism. They say here that waterfalls are like humans: they are born, they grow, they become old and, in times of water shortage, they die.
This national park is home not only to the rich fauna and flora, but also to the world’s second power station, opened just after the Niagara Falls Power Station.
A visit to the park is a very calming experience. Watching the water mills, listening to the sound of the river, and looking at the colour of Krka’s water is a feast for the soul. To make it even more unforgettable we suggest you take a bath in this paradise.
Afterwards, you will be taken for lunch in a country dwelling close by.

The main purpose of this excursion is to relax. Do you still remember a time without internet and mobile phones? Probably yes. But what about the times without TV, cars, electricity and the many other things we take for granted today? Probably not?
So come with us on a lađa, a traditional boat that was for centuries the only mode of transportation in this area. Listen to the stories from the villagers along the river, enjoy the beauty of water lilies, the smell of citrus fruits as we pass near the plantations of oranges and tangerines. Try home-made prosciutto and cheese, local wine and brandy, and forget about all your worries. A thirty minute journey will take us to a restaurant on the riverbank where our host will prepare for us specialities of Neretva cuisine, served with home-produced wine. All will combine to render you happy and relaxed, in truly a world away from home.

Morning in the world of Christianity and afternoon in the world of Islam – this could be a short description of our day trip to Međugorje & Mostar.
Međugorje is a small town in Bosnia & Herzegovina, from whence reports stemmed in the early 1980s of appearances by the Virgin Mary to nearby village children. It has consequently become a site of religious pilgrimage. Although the Holy See does not recognize these events as authentic, it did form an investigative commission and made it responsible for any possible judgment on the case. Authentic or not, the reports made this remote place famous.
We will spend the second part of the day in Mostar, probably the most charming city on the Balkan Peninsula, and which could steal your heart forever.
Encounter a place of poetry, narrow pebble streets and scents of the Orient. Walk over the famous bridge, and listen to the glorious and tragic days of this place. We will visit one of many mosques here, and stop for a cup of real coffee in the Turkish House.

Dubrovnik. Former city-state, modern day city-museum, UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, and definitely pride of Croatia. Located in the southernmost part of the country between mountains and the blue waters of Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik has been viewed since bygone times as desirable territory by both European and Byzantine rulers. Walk with us and discover its treasures.
First on our “must see“ list is the Franciscan monastery. Notable for its old pharmacy (the third oldest in the world), not to mention the library with its collection of 20,000 books, over 1,200 of which are manuscripts of extraordinary value, the monastery has what is probably the most beautiful Romanesque cloister in Dubrovnik, and in all of Croatia. Its ambience is peaceful and harmonious, inviting you to relax and soak up the atmosphere.
From the quiet premisses of the monastery, we enter vibrant Stradun, the promenade of Dubrovnik. On all sides the history of the city and its elegant architecture are evident. We will visit the cathedral dedicated to St. Blaise, visionary protector of the city and patron saint of Dubrovnik. Here you may admire the treasury, full of artefacts from Dubrovnik’s ancient goldsmiths, reliquaries and other sacred objects.
Finally, we reach the harbor, board a small ship and embark on our journey along the city walls. A perfect opportunity to take some incredible snaps of the fortifications!
Come and enjoy your day in this unique city!

Postojna cave was discovered 200 years ago, immediately becaming one of Europe’s biggest tourist attractions, and not only for cave enthusiasts. It is more than 20 km long and, with its web of passages, galleries and chambers, is a great example of a classical karst cave. It has everything that a proper cave should have, so you will see stalagmites, stalactites and huge pillars, as well as fantastic, naturally created forms, to all the world looking like curtains or spaghetti. The aptly named Spaghetti Hall is a tourist favourite, with its pure white pasta hanging from the ceiling. Enjoy the fairy tale atmosphere on foot, and by taking a train from the entrance of the cave. On display is a “human fish“, an ancient creature with a skin like ours!
After the walk in the underworld we will have our meal in a local restaurant. Enjoy!

On the way to Konavle it is almost obligatory to make a short stop just above Dubrovnik to enjoy the spectacular panorama of the old town – probably the most photographed place in the whole of Croatia. In the morning glow Dubrovnik looks really incredible from this spot. After only a few moments you will understand G.B. Shaw calling Dubrovnik “’paradise on earth“’. Soon afterwards we will reach Konavle region, there to turn off from the main road and find ourselves in a completely different world. Also recommended is the small museum housed within a local dwelling, where objects in daily use are on display; it is easy to visualise the everyday life of local people. On our return we will visit a soap factory in Cavtat. Their cosmetics are entirely natural, and handmade to their own recipes. All soaps are olive oil based, blended with goat milk, and enriched with almond oil, ground almonds, honey, beeswax and essential oils of herbs. The soaps are crafted in small batches using the traditional cold process, thereby allowing the ingredients to retain their distinctive properties. Come with us, and indulge yourself in lemon, lavender and orange scents.
